What is Osteopathy?

Osteopaths diagnose and treat problems with muscles, ligaments, nerves, and joints to help the body heal. Treatment involves gentle, manual techniques – easing pain, reducing swelling and improving mobility. Osteopaths also offer you personal advice on stretching and strengthening exercises, posture, work ergonomics and stress management.

Osteopathy is based on unique biomechanical principles and is now widely recognised throughout the world as one of the most scientifically validated and effective complementary therapies.

What is an Osteopath?

Osteopathy is a form of manual healthcare which recognises the important link between the structure of the body and the way it functions. Osteopaths focus on how the skeleton, joints, muscles, nerves, circulation, connective tissue and internal organs function as a holistic unit.

The Osteopaths at South Eastern Osteopathy are government registered health professionals with a minimum five years full time university training. They are also members of the Australian Osteopathic Association.
